Progress Report #7 - Jermaine Jackson

I think we've just about wrapped up all the filming we needed. Last friday we met with christine to finish up filming extra b-roll for the video. However, we did unfortunately run into some technical issues before we left for the shoot. On thursday there were no cameras available, and when we went to check on friday they were all reserved. We even checked the library, and attempted to try the mass media department, but it was all the same story. Guess its just that time of the year. We got the best camera we could and also got the adapter so that we could get clean audio. The camera we had didn't have manual iris to adjust lighting, but luckily it worked out for the most part.

Before the interviewees got ready, we had a chance to sit down and talk with christine about the video. She kinda proposed that anything less that 7min is fine since with all of our content it will be difficult to cut it down to 3-5min. We also discussed what she liked, and what she didn't like, and also what kind of stuff she wanted to be changed. After the meeting was done we all agreed that we were pretty much on track.

Next we moved on to capturing Broll of all of the tenants. We went back and shot eric and got some pretty interesting shots of him walking across a bridge and also standing at the top of a bridge looking out. Then we met with Christine again to get footage of her working on homework inside of her house. Of course we had to meed with Kevin again. Since he is in the video a lot we got more content of him. We got him cleaning dishes, interacting with his home, and getting ready for the morning by putting on a tie, and also entering his housing. We also did another quick interview with him to have him summarize what factors played into his homelessness. Finally we met with one of the youngest tenants, Aaron. He recently got out of the navy and is using interfaith to get back on his feet before he reenlists. We tried coaching him a bit but he did not really convey a good story, so i dont know if we will use him. Also, since we didnt have a good camera it was hard to get him well lit outside since it was unexpectedly cloudy.

other than our mishaps with the technical aspects of the shoot, id say we are well on our way to completing the video with some very satisfied clients.
