Progress Report #6 - Jermaine Jackson

We have had a busy last couple of weeks. We have powered through our interview with long hour days. Over spring break we met a few times to go over the footage and get together a rough cut. I think our project is coming along pretty well. We have really great interviews, and good b-roll as well. I think if anything we need more b-roll of the interviewees themselves interacting. We have also kept in close contact with Christine. She’s helping us with getting photographs as additional content that we can include within our project. Our difficult task right now is sorting through all the footage to find what pieces fit where. With people like Kevin it is hard because he has so many great sound bites but don’t want to have him dominate the entire project. We have pretty much been working closely with our storyboard and matching clips on the timeline to reflect it. Christine seems pretty happy with our work thus far, and that makes us happy to keep a positive attitude when working towards our solution. We have also been working on our research project and have learned about how drastic homeless veterans are. The numbers itself surprised me, which will be discussed in our presentations. I think they said 200,000 veterans go to sleep homeless at night. It’s sad but its the truth. Hopefully with this project we can help give these men and women a place to stay.
